Kay County’s active COVID-19 count reaches 140September 25, 2020 | Headlines
OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma State Department of Health reports 81,244 COVID-19 cases across the state, an increase of 1,083 from Thursday.
The state’s death toll climbed to 993 as 12 more deaths are reported.
- One in Garfield County, one male in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Garvin County, one female in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Marshall County, one male in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Muskogee County, one female in the 65 or older age group.
- Two in Oklahoma County, one female and one male in the 65 or older age group.
- Two in Ottawa County, one female and one male in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Pushmataha County, one female in the 65 or older age group.
- Three in Tulsa County, two females and one male in the 65 or older age group.
The Kay County case total is now 570 as 13 more cases are reported.
The total case count includes 47 cases in Blackwell, eight active; 13 cases in Kaw City, one active; 40 cases in Newkirk, four active; 449 cases in Ponca City, 120 active, and 29 cases in Tonkawa, seven active.
Some of the Ponca City cases have been reported on the Osage County side and other cases have been reported in rural Kay County.
There have been 16 cases reported at Kay County Nursing homes since the beginning of the pandemic. As of Sept. 25, nine cases had been reported at Ponca Nursing, eight of those are listed as recovered. One case at Shawn Manor, now listed as recovered. Two cases at Via Christi Village, one listed as recovered. One case at Creekside Village, now listed as recovered. One at Hillcrest Manor in Blackwell, listed as recovered and two at Willow Haven Nursing Home in Tonkawa, one listed as recovered.
The latest numbers on the Ponca City Public School’s Contact Tracing Sheet show the school district has 19 positive tests and isolations in effect. Eight of those at Ponca City High School; one at East Middle School; Two at West Middle School; one at Lincoln, two at Roosevelt, one at Trout, two at Union, and two at Woodlands.
The death toll includes 13 deaths in Kay County, 10 in Ponca City, one in Newkirk, one in Kaw City and one in Blackwell. Noble County has reported two deaths, a Billings resident and a Red Rock resident identified as a female in the 65 or older age category. Osage County has 13 reported deaths.
Kay County is 33rd in the state in the number of cases reported.
Osage County ranks 25th in the state in the number of cases reported with 836. Burbank has had seven reported cases, one active. Fairfax has reported 30 cases, two active and Shidler, six, two active.
Noble County’s case count is 151. Billings has 11 reported cases, three active. Marland, four cases. Perry, 61 reported cases, nine active; Red Rock’s case count is 41, five are active.
OSDH reports 46 cases in Grant County which includes six reported case in Nash, three active; 11 cases in Pond Creek, five active; 16 cases in Medford, five active; seven reported cases in Lamont and three cases in Wakita.
In Cowley County 359 cases have been reported and five deaths. The fourth one was reported on Wednesday.
