New COVID-19 case reported in NewkirkJune 29, 2020 | Headlines
OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma State Department of Health reports 13,172 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Oklahoma since the beginning of the pandemic, an increase of 228 from Sunday.
The Kay County case total is 92 as a third case has been reported in Newkirk. There were five additional cases reported in Ponca City on Saturday bringing the total number to 87 in Ponca City since the beginning of the pandemic. Six of the Ponca City cases have been in the Osage County area which is why the Kay County total is not 98. Tonkawa has had four cases; Blackwell, three cases, and Kaw City, one case.
Kay County now ranks 22nd in the state in the number of cases reported.
OSDH reports 68 of those infected in Kay County have recovered, 17 of the cases are current. There are 11 ventilators available in Kay County.
Noble County’s count is 38. Red Rock’s case count is 21, Perry has 11 cases, Morrison two cases, and Marland one case reported.
The Osage County Count is 160 and Grant County remains at two cases.
The death toll across the state is now 385 which includes seven Kay County deaths. Five in Ponca City and one each in Newkirk and Kaw City. Eight people in Osage County have died.
Cowley County now has 66 confirmed cases.
Cowley County public health officials believe some who tested positive for the virus did not quarantine.
