June 18, 2020 | CourtsNEWKIRK — A warrant is issued for Amber Kay Ahrens, 42, Kingman, Kan. by the Kay County District Court.
Ahrens was charged on May 9, 2019 with a felony count of trafficking in illegal drugs. Newkirk police report in the affidavit that on April 28, 2019, officer Ryan Potter responded to the Jiffy Trip for a report of a woman who had been parked at the store all day.

Witnesses told police she claimed her car was broke down and that she had been making extended trips to the bathroom, and sticking things in her nose while sitting in her car.
Potter reports he responded and approached the vehicle. After identifying her, Potter leaned she had an active warrant in Okmulgee County. Potter placed her under arrest and she reportedly admitted to being in possession of meth.
Potter reports she was in possession of eight bags containing 27.9 grams of meth. Ahrens failed to appear for a court date on Sept. 27, 2019 and a warrant with bond endorsed at $75,000 is issued.
