Warrant remains issued for domestic assault suspect

NEWKIRK — A warrant remains issued for Deajuan Deoan Dabney, 21, Eastborough, Kan., by the Kay County District Court.

Dabney was charged on July 16, 2019 with felony counts of kidnapping, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and a misdemeanor charge of domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor.

Kay County deputy Wesley Bear reports in the affidavit that he responded to a report of a physical domestic at First Council Casino on July 6, 2019. Otoe Tribal Police also responded.

Investigators made contact with a female who claims Dabney assaulted her. Bear reports she has visible swelling to her eye.

The female reportedly told officials she was trying to leave the room with her infant son when Dabney reportedly struck her three to five times in the face before leaving. Bond is endorsed at $5,000.
