NEWKIRK — An initial appearance is set for Karisa Lynn Ferguson, 26, Ponca City, in Kay County District Court on July 10.

Ferguson was charged on May 11 with a felony count of child abuse. Ponca City police report she was arrested on May 3 and is accused of punching a 14-year-old in the face in the presence of police officers Daniel Morrison and Jacob Hopkins.
