LAMONT — Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers report a Caldwell, Kan. man is injured following a one-vehicle accident at 4:35 p.m. Saturday in Grant County.
Troopers report Charles C. Sparks, 57, was driving a 1994 GMC Sierra eastbound on U.S. 60 near County Road 1050 when he departed the roadway to the right, entered a broadside skid, struck the bottom of the ditch, overturned one and held times before coming to rest on its top.
Sparks was ejected during the roll and landed 20 feet from the vehicle.
He was transported by Pond Creek EMS to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid. He was later transferred to OU Medical in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in stable condition with internal injuries.
Troopers cite driving under the influence as the cause of the accident and that he was not using a seatbelt.
