NEWKIRK — A warrant is issued for Susan Yvonne Spears, 51, Ponca City, by the Kay County District Court.

Spears is facing two felony charges of financial exploitation of elderly and or  disabled adult by deception and a felony count of conspiracy.

The charges were filed on Jan. 30 and bond is endorsed at $15,000.

Kay County deputy John Grimes reports in the affidavit that he was contacted by the Department of Human Services on Aug. 20 concerning a referral received from Adult Protective Services.

Grimes reports the alleged victims reported money stolen from their house and various bank accounts.

Grimes reports bank officials were interviewed by the new power of attorney over the couple’s accounts, including one banker who reportedly stated, he had many conversations with the alleged female victim about the activity on their accounts.

Grimes reports that the investigation concluded the couple has suffered a total loss of $88,994.37 in just over a year and half.

The couple also told officials that they gave Krugerrand gold to their grandson in August  to sell in Tulsa and as of October, they had not received the gold back or money. Anyone with information on Spears’ location is asked to call law enforcement.
