Former Peckham Superintendent accused of violating bond conditions

NEWKIRK — A motion to revoke former Peckham Superintendent Gary Young’s bond was filed in Kay County District Court Tuesday.

Young was released on $50,000 bond on Dec. 18 and placed under house arrest after being charged with six felonies.

Conditions of his bond include wearing an ankle monitor and he is restricted from entering the township of Peckham. Young is also the subject of a Federal lawsuit.

The charges include lewd or indecent acts to a child, and blackmail. (see story)

According to the motion filed Tuesday,  Young is accused of going to the Blackwell Walmart on Dec. 22.

The District Attorney’s office was notified of the alleged violation and conducted an investigation, and reportedly obtained video footage from Walmart.  Witnessses were also reportedly interviewed. A hearing to discuss bond revocation is to be scheduled.
