Sen. Jim Inhofe visits Ponca City

PONCA CITY — Sen. Jim Inhofe landed in Ponca City today after touring tornado damage in El Reno.

Inhofe dined at Enrique’s Mexican Restaurant with members of the media and city leaders.

He spoke briefly about grants that communities can apply for to assist in repairing the damage caused by flooding. Inhofe said the Senate is working “hand in glove” for those who have been affected by flooding and other disasters across the state.

He touted the Trump Top-10 which includes “The Biggest Tax cuts since 1986″ at No. 1 and the “Golden Age of Regulatory Relief” at No. 2.

“This is the best economy in my memory,” said Inhofe.

At No. 3 is energy dominance followed by the crackdown on illegal immigration at No. 4.

“The border wall is being built,” he said.

At No. 5 is the relocation of the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem followed by Infrastructure bills in Congress at No. 6. The remaking of the Judiciary is at No. 7; The repeal of Dodd-Frank rules to support small community banks at No. 8, the passing of the Perkins Career Tech Bill at No. 9 and military improvements at No. 10.

He said the Federal government is rebuilding the military and that he believes the tariffs placed on China, are accomplishing a purpose.
