Edmond resident with Ponca City ties injured in crash

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that at 4:22 p.m. on Feb. 16,  Edmond resident, Justin Pappan, 43, was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 35, northbound lanes, north of NE 50th Street, in OKC.

Troopers report Pappan was traveling north on I-35 at a high rate of speed and departed the roadway to the left.

The vehicle, a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, overturned and landed on its top. Pappan was pinned for 20 minutes before being extricated by OKC Firefighters using the HURST tool.

Pappan was transported by EMSA to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he was listed in fair condition with arm injuries.

Troopers cite unsafe speed for road conditions as the cause of the accident.

A fundraiser has been organized for Pappan and his family.
