NEWKIRK — Zachery Warner Bethel, 37, Shidler, entered no contest pleas in Kay County District Court to a series of charges.
On Aug. 28, 2019, Bethel was the subject of a stand off in Kaw City.
In that matter he was charged on Sept. 5, 2019, with two misdemeanor offenses. He was given a year in the county jail on those charges.
On Nov. 14, 2019 he was charged with endangering others while eluding police, burglary, and possession of a stolen vehicle. On Oct. 13, 2020, felony charges of second degree burglary and conspiracy were filed and second degree burglary and obstructing an officer were filed on June 3, 2020. In those cases he was sentenced to 20 years in prison with all but 10 years suspended.
On Dec. 19, 2019 he was charged with a felony count of possession of stolen property. In that case he was given 16 years with all but 10 years suspended.
