NEWKIRK — A plea docket is set in Kay County District Court for Dakota Tyler Tilley, 20, Tonkawa, in Kay County District Court.
Tilley is facing a felony count of failure to register as a sex offender filed on Jan. 8.
Last year Tilley was convicted of felony counts of indecent proposals to a child under the age of 16, soliciting a minor for indecent exposure and or obscene material and possession of child pornography.
He was sentenced to 10 years in prison with all but six months in the county jail suspended and ordered to register as a sex offender.
On Jan. 6, Blackwell police received a report that Tilley was living in Blackwell. An officer went to the residence and located Tilley. Police report he had not registered with Blackwell police and was residing near Blackwell High School. Police interviewed Tilley. He reportedly told officers that he had been living in Blackwell since he was released from the county jail. He claimed that he tried to register two times but that both times the officer was off duty. Tilley reportedly said he lost his paperwork and didn’t try to register again.
On Feb. 10 the court granted Tilley an own recognizance bond.
