Ponca City man sentenced to prison on eluding and drug charges

NEWKIRK — Michael Wayne Holdeman Jr., 36, Ponca City, entered guilty pleas in Kay County District Court to a felony count of endangering others while eluding police filed on July 23, 2019 and felony counts of unlawful possession of a CD with intent to distribute while in 2,000 feet of a school; endeavoring to commit a burglary, and possession precursor to manufacture a CDS filed on April 23, 2020.

In the first case, Holdeman was the subject of a police pursuit on July 6, 2018. He was arrested after he stopped on a bridge and jumped into a creek.

Holdeman was sentenced to 30 years in prison with all but 12 years suspended and ordered to register as a meth offender.
