Court date set for defendant accused of soliciting sex to a minor

NEWKIRK — A status docket is set for Dalton Lee Hale, 21, Ponca City, in Kay County District Court.

On Dec. 10, Hale was charged with a felony count of lewd or indecent proposals to a child under 16.

Blackwell police report that an officer took a report on teenager who reportedly received solicitation for nude photos and sex from male subject later identified as Hale.

Police report that officers conducted a forensic examination of the cell phone belonging to the teen and accessed the female’s Facebook account.

Police report the information found on the phone did not show a crime was committed but messages found on the Facebook account are sexually explicit.

Hale is also facing a felony charges of burglary, domestic abuse and unauthorized use of a credit card.

In that case Hale is accused of assaulting a Ponca City woman and taking her credit card. The charges were filed on Dec. 28.

On July 9 he was convicted of two misdemeanor charges of domestic abuse and a possession of meth charge. Sentencing was deferred for three years.

On Sept, 28, Hale was convicted of a felony charge of domestic abuse, assault and battery second and subsequent charge. He entered a no contest plea to the charge and sentencing was deferred for five years and ordered to complete 52 weeks of domestic violence treatment. Applications to accelerate were granted in the misdemeanor cases and Hale was sentenced to one-year deferred in the county jail.

An application to accelerate the deferred judgement issued on Sept. 28 has been filed. Hale is being held in the county jail on $30,500 bond.
