Ponca City reports 27th COVID-19 death
January 14, 2021 | HeadlinesOKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma State Department of Health most current COVID-19 total case count is 344,506 across the state.
The state’s death toll is 2,882, an increase of 34. The number includes the 45th reported death in Kay County, a Ponca City male in the 65 or older age category.
- Two in Atoka County, one female in the 50-64 age group, one male in the 50-64 age group.
- Three in Bryan County, three males in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Cleveland County, one female in the 65 or older age group.
- Three in Comanche County, one female in the 50-64 age group, two males in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Creek County, one male in the 50-64 age group.
- One in Custer County, one female in the 36-49 age group.
- One in Grady County, one male in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Greer County, one female in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Kingfisher County, one female in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Marshall County, one female in the 50-64 age group.
- One in McIntosh County, one female in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Muskogee County, one male in the 65 or older age group.
- Two in Oklahoma County, one female in the 65 or older age group, one male in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Okmulgee County, one male in the 65 or older age group.
- Three in Pontotoc County, one female in the 50-64 age group, one male in the 36-49 age group, one male in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Pottawatomie County, one male in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Pushmataha County, one male in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Rogers County, one male in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Sequoyah County, one female in the 50-64 age group.
- One in Stephens County, one male in the 65 or older age group.
- Four in Tulsa County, one female in the 65 or older age group, two males in the 50-64 age group, one male in the 65 or older age group.
- One in Wagoner County, one male in the 65 or older age group.
Kay County is ranked 12th in the state in the number of deaths reported with 45 which includes 27 Ponca City residents, two of those on the Osage County side. Eight Tonkawa residents, eight Blackwell residents two Newkirk residents and one Kaw City resident. No city was listed for the 17th death. Three of the Tonkawa deaths are contributed to Willow Haven Nursing Home. Ponca City is now ranked 16th in the state among cities with the number of deaths reported.
Noble County has seven reported deaths which includes, three deaths in Perry, including a male in the 65 or older age category; a female in the 65 or older age category; a Billings resident a female resident of Morrison a female in the 65 or older age category, and two Red Rock women both in the 65 or older age category.
Osage County is ranked 20th in the state with 32 reported deaths, including two Ponca City residents, a male in the 65 or older age category and a female in the 65 or older category.
Grant County has five reported deaths, a female resident of Deer Creek in the 65 or older age category and two Wakita residents including a female in the 65 or older category, a Medford woman in the 65 or older age category and a Lamont resident.
Kay County ranks 19th in the state in the number of cases reports with 4,045.
Included in the count are: 481 cases, in Blackwell, 64, are active; Braman, 18 reported cases, two active. Kaw City, 52 reported cases, five active. Newkirk, 343 reported cases, 46 active. Ponca City, 3,003 reported cases, 381 are active. Tonkawa, 272 cases, 28 active.
Some of the Ponca City cases have been reported on the Osage County side and other cases have been reported in rural Kay County.
As of Jan. 7 OSDH reports that there have been 167 cases reported at Kay County Nursing homes since the beginning of the pandemic, 144 of those are considered recovered and 12 have ended in death.
Fifty-six of the cases have been reported at Ponca Nursing, 49 recovered and three deaths. Two cases at Shawn Manor, both recovered; 66 cases at Via Christi Village, 57 recovered, three deaths. Two cases at Creekside Village, both recovered. Six at Hillcrest Manor in Blackwell, three recovered and three deaths, and 28 at Willow Haven Nursing Home in Tonkawa, 24 recovered and four deaths. On Dec. 31, Via Christi Village’s update shows six deaths have been recorded at the facility.
Osage County ranks 25th in the state for the number of cases report with 3,583. That number includes 33 reported cases in Burbank, one active. Fairfax has reported 150 cases, 22 active, and Shidler, 52, six active.
Fairfax Manor Nursing Home reports 11 cases, all recoverd. Fairfax reported its first COVID-19 death on Dec. 11, a female in the 50-64 age group.
Noble County’s case count is 1,126 which includes 191 cases in Billing with six active. The latest report from OSDH released on Dec. 31 shows that 130 of the cases have been reported at the Billings Fairchild Center, 128 of those are considered recovered. Marland has 46 reported cases, 10 active; Morrison, 146 cases, 14 active; Perry, 535 reported cases, 57 active; Red Rock’s case count is 153, 24 active.
There are 443 reported cases in Grant County which includes 25 total cases in Deer Creek, one active. Lamont, 55 reported cases, five active. Medford 140 reported cases, eight active. Nash 48 reported cases, two active. Pond Creek has 127 cases reported,12 active and 40 cases in Wakita, three active. Deer Creek and Lamont have one reported death and Wakita has two.
In Cowley County 3,016 cases have been reported and 24 deaths.
