PC Board of education seeking board applicants

PONCA CITY  — The Ponca City Board of Education is seeking applicants for Ward seat No. 4, which became vacant with the death of board member David Kincaid.

State law states that when a vacancy occurs, the board has 60 days to appoint someone to fill the position or call for a special election. A newly appointed board member will serve until the next succeeding board election, at which time the office shall be placed on the ballot for the balance of the unexpired term which is until 2024. 

All eligible, interested applicants should contact Betty Johnston at johnsb@pcps.us or by phone at 580-718-3805 for a list of the qualifications and questionnaire. 

The deadline to submit the questionnaire is Friday, Jan. 29  at 4 p.m.

Interested individuals must reside within the boundaries of Ward No. 4 to apply. 

The map of Ward No. 4 is available on the district’s website at www.pcps.us or a copy may be picked up at the Central Administration building at 613 East Grand Avenue. The legal description of Ward No. 4 is:
