Ponca City man sentenced in drug cases

NEWKIRK — Robert Dalton Simmons, 25, Ponca City, entered no contest pleas in Kay County District Court to felony charges of unlawful possession of a CDS with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm after conviction, committing a felony with a firearm with a defaced ID and a misdemeanor drug charge.

The offenses were filed on March 8, 2018. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison with all but four years suspended and one year in the county jail.

He also entered a no contest plea to a misdemeanor drug charge filed on July 8, 2019. In that case he was sentenced to one-year in county jail.
