RANCH DRIVE — Kildare and Ranch Drive firefighters responded to a hay barn fire Wednesday at 11:55 a.m. at the intersection of Hartford and U Street.

Ranch Drive Fire Chief Billy Steichen said the barn was fully involved when crews arrived. “There were 500 bales of hay and equipment burning,” said Steichen. “We talked with the owner and decided to let it burn.” Steichen said he believes it is still smoldering today.
