Texas couple injured in accident

BLAIR — A Texas couple were injured in a motorcycle accident that occurred on Oct. 16 at 4:01 p.m. on Oklahoma 44 east of U.S. 283 north of Blair in Greer County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that Sharon K. Meinert, 67, Hobart, was driving a 2019 Dodge Ram southbound on U.S. 283 when she slowed to turn left onto Oklahoma 44.

Troopers report her vehicle was stuck by a 2006 Honda motorcycle controlled by Michael J. Stewart, 50, Annona, Texas, who was traveling northbound on U.S. 283.

The bike departed the roadway to the right to avoid the vehicle and struck the pickup on Oklahoma 44.

Stewart was transported by Jackson County ambulance to Jackson County Memorial where he was treated and released with trunk internal injuries. His passenger, Shayla A. Collins, 45 Annona, Texas, was airlifted to OU Medical Center where she was admitted in good condition with trunk internal injuries. Meinert was not injured.
