NEWKIRK — A status docket is set for Bobby Daniel Largent, 63, Tonkawa, in Kay County District Court.
Largent is facing felony charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, first degree burglary, possession of a firearm after conviction during probation and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Tonkawa police report that on Sept. 28, Largent is accused of pointing a gun at a subject’s face and stating, “I’m going to kill you.”
The alleged victim told police that Largent attempted to pull the trigger but appeared to be intoxicated and had difficulty with the trigger and safety mechanism, so instead of shooting the gun, he reportedly pistol whipped the subject twice in the head before the magazine became disconnected from the pistol.
The alleged victim and a witness were able to shove Largent to the ground and retrieve the gun.
The alleged victim then reportedly went to a friend’s house to seek help. He told police his friend cleaned the wounds on his head and superglued the flesh.
After an investigation police arrested Largent on Oct. 1 and he was booked in the county jail where he is being held on $250,000 bond.
