KSO logs Sept. 25-28

The following information is provided by the Kay County Sheriff’s Department.

Sept. 25

At 1:07 p.m. KSO was notified that PCPD received a report of a body found behind Aldi’s.

At 3:21 p.m. a deputy arrested Courtney Grant at the courthouse.

At 4:56 p.m. a deputy arrested Melvin Banister on warrants after doing a welfare check on Highway 77 south of Coleman Road.

Sept. 26

At  7:50 a.m. an employee with the Kanza Travel Plaza reported a man claiming he was robbed at gunpoint. The subject told deputies he was robbed the day before at Hubbard and Interstate 35. The man said he was truck issues when two subjects in a Dodge Charger pulled up. Two males got out asking for directions. As the man went for a map, one of the males pointed a gun and took two android cell phones off the dash. The suspects are described as a white male, bald with a mustache and the second is a black male. Later the victim called and said he found one of the phones under the hood of the truck. A report was made.

At 4 p.m. deputies responded to a report of a motorcycle accident on Highway 177 and Earth Road. A semi backed over a motorcycle. No injuries were reported.

Sept. 27

At 3:08 a.m. KSO received a report that a stabbing victim was at the ER in Ponca. The subject reportedly was wounded during a fight at Riding High.

At 8:05 a.m. KSO received a report of subjects hunting on city property in Braman. A Wildlife Agent located two juveniles.

At 12:28 p.m. a subject called KSO and reported he purchased a vehicle with cash. The seller than had the vehicle repossessed. A stolen vehicle report was made.

At 12:57 p.m. Blackwell police advised fire units were on scene of a structure fire in the 600 block of D Street.

At 2:10 p.m. KSO received a report of a domestic in progress in Braman. A male subject was threatening to set the house on fire. The male reportedly hit a female and got in his vehicle to leave. Blackwell police stationed an unit in the area. Deputies arrived and the situation was resolved.

Sept. 28

At 12:08 p.m. deputies responded to the 300 block of south Flormable for a report of a landlord throwing a renters belongings into the yard. The landlord told deputies the renter assaulted her. A report was made.
