Warrant issued for Ponca City man in Newkirk assault case

NEWKIRK — A warrant is issued for Macom Alan Cline, 45, Ponca City, by the Kay County District Court.

Cline is wanted on a felony charge of aggravated assault and battery after two or more felony convictions.

Newkirk police officer Nolan Tattershall reports that a 68-year-old man came into the police station and reported he was assaulted by Cline at the vegetable stand in Newkirk on July 31. Cline reportedly punched the man in the face.

The alleged victim went to the dentist office and was told his jaw appeared to be broke. The subject then went to the ER where he was diagnosed with a mandibular fracture.

Tattershall reports he made contact with Cline on Aug. 3 via phone. Cline reportedly refused to talk with out an attorney and the call ended.

Police report Cline called back 34 minutes later and stated that he hit the man after he allegedly told him he had someone to take care of him. Bond for Cline is endorsed at $10,000.
