September 24, 2020 | Sports

TULSA  – On Oct. 17th and 18th the Tulsa Polo Club will be co-hosting with the Tulsa Parks & Recreation Department an event to highlight military members and their families at Mohawk Park Oxley Field.

The 12:30 p.m. Opening Ceremonies includes the Honor Guard from the 138th Fighter Wing, Veteran VIPs, a mounted flag ceremony, convertible cars and the singing of the National Anthem.

During the two-hour matches, polo teams from around the nation will fight for the General George S. Brown Tournament prize money and trophy. Two matches will take place daily. A traditional Divot Stomp will be at half-time.

Veterans will receive free access to the two-day event where tailgates and VIP seating are set up for 6-10’ social distancing.

The wide open “green beach” as it is often called, is 300 yards by 160 yards in size, so there is plenty of room to social distance.

Children under nine get in free as well and there will be a ‘Paint the Pony’ option for children.
