Warrants issued in stolen vehicle caseSeptember 22, 2020 | Courts
NEWKIRK — Warrants are issued for Timothy Junior Green, 48, Sara Diane McCoy, 43, both of Ponca City, by the Kay County District Court.
On Aug. 31, the pair and Samuel Luke Hightower, 30, Ponca City, were charged with conspiracy. Green and McCoy are also charged with receiving and or concealing a stolen vehicle and Hightower is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.
The Kay County Sheriff’s Department reports that on May 27, deputies received a report of a stolen pickup. On May 29 the vehicle was located at 820 N. Peachtree in Ponca City. Officials report Green and McCoy were in possession of the vehicle.
Deputy Jason Bell reports the pair claimed they were buying the vehicle from Hightower. Bell made contact with Hightower at the county jail. He reportedly admitted to using the vehicle and said that he and Green spray painted black stripes on the truck. Bell reports that all three were at one time in possession of the vehicle and conspired to conceal the vehicle by spray painting it and defacing the tag.
In a second case, Green was convicted on Aug. 27, four days before the new charge was filed, of a felony count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and a misdemeanor count of domestic abuse, assault and battery. He was sentenced to a 10 year suspended prison sentence and fined.
Bond for Green endorsed at $15,000. Bond for McCoy is endorsed at $10,000 (no mug shot available) and Hightower is scheduled for a plea docket on Oct. 5.
