KSO logs Sept. 2-4

The following information is provided by the Kay County Sheriff’s Department.

Sept. 2

At 8:04 a.m. PCPD requested a warrant check on Glen Chattam. It was affirmative and PCPD arrested him and transported to the county jail.

At 4:12 p.m. KSO received a report of a trash dump on U Street. The name in the trash came back to a resident at 820 N. Palm in Ponca City. A deputy made contact and told the female she had until 8 p.m. to clean it up.

At 1:13 p.m. PCPD contacted a deputy in reference to kidnapping followed by a domestic that occurred in the White Eagle area.

At 6:58 p.m. a member of the  Cowley County Sheriff’s Department contacted KSO and reported he was following a vehicle involved in a theft that occurred at Walmart in Ark City. The vehicle reportedly had a stolen tag and was traveling wast on Home Road from Highway 77. At 7:03 p.m. the Cowley County deputy advised the vehicle was heading south on Pecan and traveling 80mph. A deputy located the vehicle south of Canteen on Highway 77 in a drive way. Both the driver and the passenger had warrants. A deputy arrested James David Moreland, 56. Derby, Kansas police was contacted. The vehicle was towed.

Sept. 3

A deputy took a larceny report at 8:50 p.m. in the 9800 block of west Bender Road.

Sept. 4

At 1:15 p.m. deputies took a report on an assault and battery reported in the 900 block of east Highway 60. The victim reportedly suffered hadn’t and wrist injuries.

At 2:24 p.m. a deputy arrested Troy Willbanks at the courthouse on a warrant. (see story)

Also arrested at the courthouse was Jeffrey Pappan.

At 8:35 p.m. deputies responded to the 1100 block of east Dry Road for a report of a suspicious subject. Deputies report the male was looking for a friend named Ella Mae.
