PONCA CITY — Ponca City School Superintendent said today that the district has completed 14 days of school, and nine of those were completed with out a COVID-19 diagnosis.
Tomorrow the district will have District Learning Practice Day. Students will be learning at home and not attend the classroom.
The day has been converted to an instructional day to provide students the opportunity to practice Distance Learning in the event of a quarantine or temporary closure. (see story)
Students will log in to the class assigned by their teacher and will complete and submit one assignment to be counted present for the day. Teachers will be available form 8-11 a.m. for support, but students may submit the completed assignment any time before midnight.
“We will be serving freegrab and go meals on Distance Learning Day from 11 -12:30 at the following locations: Po-Hi, Garfield Elementary, Union Elementary and West Middle School.”
The district will also begin serving meals to students enrolled in the virtual academy on Tuesday. Meals will be available to virtual students to be picked up between 11-12 on the 7th Street side of the Senior High School, near Overbrook. Meals must be ordered daily before 2 p.m. by calling Tamra Raulston at 580-718-3830 at the CNP office.
