KSO logs Aug. 30-Sept. 1

The following information is provided by the Kay County Sheriff’s Department.

Aug. 30

At 12:45 a.m. KSO received a report of an accident near 7 Clans Casino north of Newkirk. Newkirk fire responded. (see story)

At 2:42 a.m. KSO received a report that someone had broken into a travel trailer in the 4300 block of N. U.S. 77. A deputy responded and took a larceny report.

At 11:27 a.m. police took a vandalism report at the Newkirk Rodeo Grounds. A subject reportedly used a pickup to bust through a gate.

At 9:20 p.m. deputies checked on a report of a suspicious vehicle parked near Chilocco Creek on L.A. Cann and Indian Road. The couple said they had been staying at the casino but ran out of money and was sleeping in the vehicle. They were asked to move.

Aug. 31

At 6:22 a.m. deputies took a report on a stolen vehicle that was later located.

At 9:06 a.m. KSO received a report of a trash dump near Waverly and Tower Road.

At 2:35 p.m. Tonkawa police transferred a call to KSO reporting a dog fight on Tosque Drive. Fort Oakland Animal Control was notified. A report was made.

At 1:16 p.m. a deputy arrested Jesse Diaz, 55, at 9th and Maple in Newkirk on warrants.

At 2:37 p.m. Blackwell police confirmed a warrant for Tommie Shoemaker. 

At 4:37 p.m. KSO received a report of property stolen from a  shed in the 9200 block of east South Ave. A lawn mower and welding rig were missing. A report was made.

At 8:02 p.m. a trooper arrested Bryce Chandler Waldrop, 25, after responding to a report of an intoxicated driver.

At 9:24 p.m. a deputy assisted new kirk police with a report of a stabbing victim in the 400 block of N. Pine. A juvenile was arrested.

Sept. 1

At 10:05 a.m. more items from the shed on South Ave. were reported missing.

At 12:22 p.m. a deputies responded to the courthouse for a report of a belligerent male subject at the court clerk’s office. A report was made.

At 3:08 p.m. Blackwell police arrested Tommie Shoemaker on warrants. (see story)

At 4:43 p.m. a deputy served papers to a subject at Ponca Nursing.

At 5:53 p.m. a deputy took a report on abandoned vehicle in the 2000 block of west Doolin.

At 6:40 p.m. deputies traveled to Tonkawa to execute a search warrant on a vehicle.

At 7:35 p.m. deputies responded to the 6900 block of Pleasant View Road for a report of residential burglary. A report was made.
