Hearing set for Tonkawa man in domestic abuse case

NEWKIRK — A preliminary hearing is set for Joseph Michael Reynolds Sr., 36, Tonkawa, in Kay County District Court.

Reynolds was arrested by Tonkawa police on July 16 and later charged with a felony count of kidnapping and a misdemeanor charge of domestic abuse.

Tonkawa police report they investigated a report of a female allegedly beaten by Reynolds. Officers made contact with the female and report she had multiple bruises on an arm and a swollen lip.

The female recounted stories of abuse including being left in a hot attic and having a knife pulled on her and Reynolds allegedly stating, “No one is around who would hear you scream and that is the way I like it.”  She also told police that he slashed her tires and that she drove away on four flats.

Reynolds was booked in the county jail on July 16 and remains there with bond set at $50,000.
