NEWKIRK — A status docket is set for Joshua Ryan Brotherton, 33, Tonkawa, on Oct. 2 in Kay County District Court.
Brotherton is facing three felony charges of child abuse.
Ponca City police report Brotherton is accused of physically abusing three children during disciplinary situations and is accused of kicking a child in the ribs with steel toed boots and or shoes for sleeping late.
Other incidents reported include spankings with a belt, punched in the stomach or slapped on the head.
The warrant was issued with bond endorsed at $50,000. On May 5, bond was lowered to $10,000 by Judge David Wilkie. Brotherton is free on bond.
