Pair accused of animal cruelty miss court date

NEWKIRK —  For the second time in a year, a Ponca City couple accused of animal cruelty have failed to appear in Kay County District Court.

Daniel James Moran, 54, and Patricia Linn Moran, 51, were charged on May 13, 2019 with a felony count of cruelty to animals.

The pair are accused of neglecting pigs and goats. (see story). They were arrested on the charges on June 6, 2019 and released on bond.

They then failed to appear for a court date on Aug. 2, 2019 and warrants with bond endorsed at $25,000 were issued.

On Aug. 9, 2019 they were arrested on the warrants and again released on bond. (see story) The pair failed to appear for a status docket on Friday and warrants with bond endorsed at $2,000 are issued. Anyone with information on their location is asked to call police.
