Enid resident critically injured in accident near Nash

NASH — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that an Enid resident is in critical condition following a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 5:43 p.m. Sunday east of Nash in Grant County.

Troopers report Michael David Owens, 45, Enid, was traveling westbound on U.S. 64 east of CR 850, 6.5 miles east of Nash, in a 1993 Chevrolet Surburban, when he departed the roadway to the right, re entered the roadway and rolled one time and came to rest in the middle of the road.

Troopers report he was airlifted from the scene to OU Medical in Oklahoma City where he is listed in critical condition and that the cause of the collision is under investigation but that the smell of alcohol was present.
