Hi, it’s Marilee Thornton, your current Kay County District Court Clerk, here to tell you a little about myself.

I am the daughter of Richard (Dick) and Mary Lewis.  I am the fifth born of eight children. Growing up, my parents instilled a strong work ethic in all of us. I believe with hard work and dedication you can achieve your goals. In May of 1988, my family and I moved to Kay County, where I have since resided. Since 1984, I have held and maintained positions in business management. In 1992, I completed the Business Technology Program through Pioneer Vo-tech.

Kay County Court Clerk Marilee Thornton

I began my career with the Court Clerk’s office in May of 1998, and completed the County Government training program, receiving my certification in May of 2003.

I resigned May of 2006 and returned September of 2008, and was appointed First Deputy for Mary Ramey in August of 2009.

I was elected as your Kay County Court Clerk in June of 2012 and began my term in August of 2012 when Mary Ramey retired. I have since held and fulfilled that position with pride, integrity, honesty and professionalism.

My staff and I vow to continue giving 110 percent in serving the citizens of Kay County. I look forward to continue serving as your District Court Clerk.
