“I am thrilled to give the citizens of Kay County a chance to get to know their future court clerk a bit. I was born and raised in Caney, Kansas. In 1995 I moved to Kay County, where I have stayed since.

Natalie Scavezze

I first went to work at the Kay County Court Clerk’s Office in January of 2000. I held the positions of criminal clerk and cost administrator until Jan. 2006, when I left to pursue different endeavors. But I didn’t stay away too long as I returned to the office in January 2012. It was during this time that I was named First Deputy by the current court clerk. The position gave me the opportunity to gain an extraordinary amount of working knowledge throughout the office. In December of 2018 I was hired by my current employer, Kaw Nation, as their court clerk.

“This year I heard the winds of change calling me to run for Kay County Court Clerk. Why? You might ask. Because I believe the citizens of Kay County want and need change. I recognize the importance of ensuring a welcoming experience when visiting the court clerk’s office. When elected, I intend to ensure the lines of communication remain clear, open and consistent.

Once elected my primary goal is to institute a smooth, streamline filing process. I will work with all attorneys to find a more convenient way to file court documents and pleadings, thus eliminating the drive to Newkirk each time a document is filed.

After the closure of both the Ponca City and Blackwell satellite offices, I realized this has taken its toll on attorneys, their clients and our citizens. I also look forward to finding a more convenient way for the media  to receive necessary information that should be provided to the citizens of Kay County.

“Nothing will make me prouder than to work for you, the citizens of Kay County!”
