KSO logs May 8-14

The following information is provided by the Kay County Sheriff’s Department.

May 8

At 6:40 a.m. a deputy arrested Troy Roberts on a warrant during a traffic stop at Pecan and Dry Road.

At 4:08 p.m. a citizen contacted KSO and reported unemployment fraud.

May 9

At 12:06 a.m. Blackwell police contacted KSO and reported they received a 911 call with people arguing and screaming in the background. Deputies responded to an address on Brake Road. An investigation followed.

At 8:32 p.m. KSO received a request for extra patrol in the area of Pioneer Park in reference to vandalism.

May 10

At 12:38 a.m. Grant County Sheriff’s Office contacted KSO and reported a caller reported a driver was trying to run her off the road. The vehicle was currently parked at Casey’s in Tonkawa. Tonkawa police was notified and two people were arrested.

At 6:18 a.m. KSO received a report of an accident in the 1100 block of S. 92nd Street. The vehicle reportedly ran through a fence and waterway. OHP and Blackwell police were notified. An ambulance responded but the driver refused treatment.

At 4:39 p.m. a resident contacted KSO and reported he was in a two-vehicle accident at Earth Road and W Street. OHP was notified. Newkirk ambulance responded.

At 8:38 p.m. a deputy took a report on two stolen saddles in the 1200 block of west Canteen Road.

May 11

At 10:19 a.m. KSO received a report of two suspicious males on a Gator claiming to be measuring for a pipeline in the 1500 block of east Kildare Road. Extra patrol was requested.

At 1:40 p.m. KSO took a report on a stolen check book in the 6100 block of N. Union.

At 1:44 p.m. KSO received a report of a domestic in Kildare. Cowley County was contacted about the male subject. It was confirmed he had warrants in both Kay and Cowley counties. Winfield police later reported they had the subject. Kay County placed a hold on him.

At 8:16 p.m. KSO received a report of an adult male in the 3200 block of Lake Road that had been involved in a disturbance. Deputies responded and arrested Morris Page, 26. 

May 12

PCPD contacted KSO at 1:40 a.m. and reported an accident on Ranch Drive north of Cowboy Hill Road. (see story)

At 1:26 p.m. a female contacted KSO and reported she was receiving harassing and threatening texts from an unknown subject. A report was made.

At 8:53 p.m. A deputy requested Newkirk police go to a residence on 8th Street and make a theft report. A report was made.

May 13

At 12:09 p.m. a resident reported she received a call informing her that she missed jury duty check in and that she was going to be arrested. The information was logged.

At 5:19 p.m. a deputy assisted Tonkawa police at Tonkawa Casino. Corey Sims, 37, was arrested.

May 14

At 5:06 a.m. KSO received a report of a domestic in progress in the 2700 block of Austin Road. The situation was resolved.

At 4:32 p.m, an employee of Sen. James Lankford’s office contacted KSO and requested a welfare check on a subject that was making suicidal comments. The subject had been on the phone with an employee of the Sen. office regarding a social security case.
