Arkansas resident injured in accident near Braman

BRAMAN — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 35 at 1:06 p.m.  closed the northbound lanes near Braman for one-hour and left an Arkansas resident injured.

Troopers report that John Walker, 72, Russellville, Ark., was traveling in a 2006 Nissan Sentra northbound on I-35 when he suffered a medical condition. The vehicle departed the roadway to the left, striking a guardrail and a cable barrier before rolling one-time over the guardrail, and coming to rest on its wheels near mile marker 228, southwest of Braman.

Walker was transported by Air Evac to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kan. and admitted in fair condition with internal trunk injuries.

Blackwell and Braman fire units responded to the incident.
