SHIDLER —  The Osage County Sheriff’s Department, Bartlesville Police, and Barnsdall Police are investigating a homicide case.

Osage County Sheriff Eddie Virden said today that the victim, whose name has not been released, was found at his home in Shidler Tuesday around 1 p.m.

“We got a call from a lady in Shidler saying she had found the victim deceased in bed,” said Virden.

“We responded and learned that the victim was assaulted with a blunt object late Monday night and or during the early morning hours of Tuesday in the 1100 block of south Maple in Bartlesville. The victim had asked the female to take him home after the assault. She did and he went to bed. She went back to check on him Tuesday and found him deceased. We contacted Bartlesville police and let them know what we had. The female followed us to Bartlesville. Once she got there police interviewed her and then made an arrest. We learned that the main suspect was in Barnsdall. So we called Barnsdall police. They made an arrest on Main Street. We executed a search warrant in Barnsdall and recovered evidence at a location. Bartlesville police have executed two search warrants. It is an ongoing investigation and we believe there could be two more suspects.”

Virden said the arrests are the result of the three law enforcement agencies working together.

The names of those arrested, other suspects, or the victim have not been released at this time.
