NEWKIRK — Tommie Robert Shoemaker, 42, Blackwell, entered a no contest plea in Kay County District Court to a felony count of first degree rape, seven counts of lewd and or indecent proposals to a child under 16, and rape by instrumentation.
He was sentenced by Judge David Wilkie to 11 years in prison with all but one-year suspended. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender and have no contact with the victims.
Shoemaker was arrested by Blackwell police on March 14, 2019 after two females told police that Shoemaker sexually assaulted them many times over the years. (see story)
