Dicamba Training, Feb. 27 at Blackwell Fairgrounds

February 10, 2020 | Headlines

NEWKIRK — The Environmental Protection Agency announced in November that they would be extending the registration of over-the-top use of dicamba (Xtendimax, Engenia, FeXapan) in Xtend cotton and soybean (dicamba-tolerant) for two years.

Xtendimax, Engenia, and FeXapan will remain Restricted Use Herbicides and will continue to follow the record keeping requirements that were put in place last year.

Those planning to purchase or applying these Restricted Use Herbicides this coming spring are required to complete training regardless if you attended a dicamba training last year, as changes to label instructions have been made.

Only certified applicators may purchase and apply these products. Applicators operating under the supervision of a certified applicator may notpurchase or apply these products.

On Feb. 27, 2019 at noon Kay, Grant, and Noble County OSU Extension offices will be hosting a training at the Blackwell Expo Center, in Blackwell.

Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.

A presentation from OSU Weed Science Extension Specialist, Dr. Misha Manuchehri will follow.

Those wanting to attend must RSVP by Tuesday, Feb. 25,  so there is enough educational material, and an accurate meal count.

Contact the Kay County OSU Extension office to RSVP your educational material and lunch at 580-362-3194.
