NEWKIRK — A roll over ATV accident near the Oklahoma-Kansas state line reportedly left two juveniles injured Saturday.

Newkirk Fire Chief Adam Longcrier said ambulance crews transported a juvenile female who was reportedly having difficulty breathing to Alliance Health in Ponca City with abdominal, head and neck injuries.

“We were contacted at 8:42 p.m. Saturday about the accident,” said Longcrier.  “The accident reportedly occurred around 4 p.m. Saturday near the river along the Oklahoma-Kansas border and the pair were reportedly not wearing protective gear.”

Longcrier said a second victim, a juvenile male, was transported by a parent from the fire station to Alliance Health.

Facebook posts indicate that at least one of the juveniles was transferred to OU Medical.

The Kay County Sheriff radio logs indicate that Alliance Health contacted KSO at 11:20 p.m. Saturday and reported they were treating two subjects who were injured in an ATV accident. A deputy and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol were advised. Longcrier said they urge individuals who have accidents to contact 911 immediately. “It is always good to call 911 when your in an accident.”
