Court date set in rape caseJanuary 8, 2020 | Courts
NEWKIRK — An initial appearance is set for Jaycob Glenn Prince, 20, Blackwell, in Kay County District Court on Jan. 10.
Prince is facing a second degree rape charge and a misdemeanor charge of possession of meth.
Prince was arrested by Ponca City police on Dec. 19 after a 15-year-old girl told authorities that she has been having consensual sex with him. The teen reportedly admitted to skipping school to have sex with him and later told an official she fears she has a sexual transmitted disease.
PCPD Sgt. Matt Biddinger reports that Prince admitted to having sex with the teen but thought she was 16. As officers prepared to book him into the Ponca City jail he told officers he was in possession of meth.
Prince is being held in the county jail on $50,000 bond.
