NEWKIRK — Anthony Alan Gonzales, 39, Ponca City, is scheduled for a status docket in Kay County District Court on Nov. 15.
Gonzales is facing felony charges of endangering others while eluding police, possession of firearm, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, and possession of meth. Five misdemeanor charges are also filed.
Gonzales was arrested by Kay County deputy Jacob Hopkins following a high speed pursuit that ended the back yard of a residence in the 600 block of N. Oak on Sept. 19. (see story and photos)
After crashing his vehicle, Gonzales reportedly fled on foot. Hopkins reports in the affidavit that Gonzales dropped several items, including a backpack, during a foot chase before he was tased and arrested. Among the items Hopkins reportedly found in the backpack, a Smith and Wesson 45 caliber containing seven bullets. Other items reportedly found at the scene include Heroin, Meth and syringes. Gonzales is being held on $100,000 bond.
