NEWKIRK — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has identified Wayne Gunwall, 73, Newkirk, as the subject injured in an accident at the intersection of Bender and Ranch Drive Road on Sunday at 5:52 p.m., northwest of Newkirk.

Troopers report Gunwall was driving a 2016 Subaru Outback westbound on Bender Road and Christopher Graham, 42, Hutchinson, Kan., was driving a 1997 Volvo Semi pulling a mobile home, northbound on Ranch Drive. (see original story)

Graham reportedly failed to stop at stop sign because the sign was covered by brush and Gunwall struck the mobile home.

Gunwall was airlifted from the scene to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kan and admitted in stable condition with head, trunk internal, arms, and trunk external injuries. Troopers report both drivers were using seatbelts.
