Pending charges against Winfield man dismissed

NEWKIRK — Two cases pending against Winfield, Kan. resident Robby Joe Sherman, 45, have been dismissed in Kay County District Court.


Sherman was facing a felony count of second degree burglary and misdemeanor charges of larceny of lost property and unauthorized use of a credit card. He was arrested by Ponca City police in connection to theft reported at the La Quinta Inn and a missing credit cards reported by a local business owner.

The cases were dismissed by Judge Jennifer Brock on Sept. 17 after a motion made by the state.

According to the Kansas Department of Corrections website, Sherman was released from DOC on July 19 after serving time for theft, forgery, and drug convictions. However in a second post, KDOC shows that Sherman is incarcerated until 2020.
