Officials addressing water issue at WMS

September 18, 2019 | Headlines

PONCA CITY — Ponca City Public School Maintenance Director, Brett Smith, said the water issue at West Middle School is being addressed by city officials and should be solved soon.

Smith said the city had a valve malfunction that caused low water pressure until the water went off at 12:45 today. He said the school has porta-potties, drinking water and hand sanitizer in place.

Superintendent Shelley Arrott issued a statement letting parents know all students are safe. However, if parents would like to pick up their WMS students early, they are asked to check in at the school office. Buses will run as normal this afternoon.
