Court date set in sexual battery case

NEWKIRK — A status docket is set for Teddy Eugene Sutton, 72, Ponca City, in Kay County District Court on Nov. 15.

Sutton was arrested by Ponca City police and later charged with a felony count of sexual battery. Police report Sutton is accused of trying to touch a woman’s breasts and attempting to shove her hand down his pants. Police report an officer made contact with Sutton about the allegations. He reportedly admitted to telling the woman she was attractive and asking if he could touch her breasts. He reportedly stated, “I then touched her breasts over the top of her shirt and grabbed her hand. She became upset and I left and went home.” Sutton was transported to the Ponca City Jail where reportedly told officers he has dementia, and again admitted to touching the woman and grabbing her hand. He was later booked in the county jail and is currently free on bond.
