Ponca City man injured in Noble County accident

NOBLE COUNTY — A Ponca City resident injured in a two-vehicle accident today is reportedly in critical but stable condition at OU Medical Center.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is reporting that Harold Hutchins, 68, was airlifted to OU Medical in Oklahoma City, with leg injuries. Troopers report Hutchins was traveling northbound in a 2019 Dodge Ram on U.S. 177 and Dwayne Spears, 35, Briggsville, Arkansas, was traveling southbound in a 2018 Peterbilt semi.

OHP reports Hutchins traveled left of center and struck the semi in the front driver side. Hutchins was reportedly pinned for one hour before being freed by Ponca City Fire. The collision occurred at 12:39 p.m. on U.S. 177 just north of Oklahoma 15 east, south east of Red Rock. Spears was not injured. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
