Former resident sentenced to Federal prison now facing local charges

NEWKIRK — Former Kay County resident, Daniel Wayne Douglas, 60, who is serving 110 months in Federal prison, is booked in the county jail on a writ.

Douglas is convicted of Federal charges of distribution of meth, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana. The charges were filed in Federal Court on March 20, 2018, and the offenses occurred on or about Nov. 2, 2016. He was convicted on July 25. Douglas now faces drug and firearm charges in Kay County that were filed on Nov. 8, 2016. He is scheduled for a status docket on Sept. 6.
