Former resident faces drug and child abuse charges

NEWKIRK — Former Ponca City and Tonkawa resident Taylor Allen Rogers, 24, was booked in the Kay County jail this week on a host of charges that include child abuse, drug charges and falsely impersonating another to create liability.

On June 26, Rogers was charged with a felony count of child abuse by injury. Ponca City Police report he is accused of abusing a one-year-child.
(See story) Bond in that case is set at $50,000.

In a second case filed on May 23, Rogers is charged with a felony count of falsely personating another to create liability and a misdemeanor count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Tonkawa police report in the affidavit that Rogers, gave his brother’s name to police. Bond in that case is set at $500.
Rogers also has a drug case pending from 2018 and four misdemeanor cases pending. He is being held on $39,899 bond and is set to make his initial appearance in district court on Aug. 16.
