Woman struck and killed by train in Ellis County

GAGE — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports a woman was killed today after being struck by a train in Ellis County at 12:50 p.m.

Troopers report Dawn Renee O’Hair, 44, Laverne, was pronounced at the scene due to injuries sustained in the collision.

The accident occurred on Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad property at Main Street in Gage. The Burlington Northern Santa Fe train, had four engines and 72 cars.

Conductor Edwin R. Bulls, 63, Amarillo, Texas and engineer, Douglas H George, 48, Amarillo, Texas, were not injured. Troopers report O’Hair was walking west bound down the railroad tracks and the train was east bound on the railroad tracks. Troopers cite the cause of the accident as pedestrian in roadway.
