PAWHUSKA — Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers cite driving under the influence of drugs as the cause of an injury accident that occurred near Pershing in Osage County Thursday morning.
Troopers report the accident occurred at 7:48 a.m. on Oklahoma 11 just east of Pershing when a 2003 Dodge Caravan driven by Ahmed Sammuel Viccihio, 64, Pawhuska, was traveling westbound, departed the roadway to the left. Viccihio then reportedly over corrected, and lost control going into a broadside. The vehicle departed the roadway to the right, rolled over, went through a fence line, and came to a rest in a pasture. Viccihio was not injured.
His passenger, Julia Renee Girly, 55, Pawhuska, was partially ejected and pinned for nearly 10 minutes before being freed by Pawhuska Fire Department. She was airlifted to St. John’s in Tulsa, where she was admitted in stable condition with arm and trunk internal injuries.
